SAF NinjaProtected+


SAF NinjaProtected+ is a data protection analysis tool for users of the most popular backup and recovery software applications. It is run non-disruptively in customers’ environments to capture key metadata (no backup data is accessed), to produce a Backup Assessment Report.

This, zero obligation, report provides insight into customers’ environments to enable informed discussions with the customer on their data protection options to increase efficiency and performance. The Assessment, where appropriate, quantifies the value of upgrading the backup storage to a StoreOnce System.

StoreOnce Sizing made Easy!


The primary NinjaProtected+ Backup Assessment Report describes how much storage savings a customer would achieve by moving to a StoreOnce, but does not recommend a specific StoreOnce model. Instead, NinjaProtected+ delivers a file that can be loaded into the HPE Storage Sizer tool to generate a specific StoreOnce model. This allows the StoreOnce solution to be tailored specifically for the customer's needs.

Overview of NinjaProtected+


NinjaProtected+ quickly collects point-in-time data from an enterprise backup environment, imports the data into an analytic engine, and generates backup assessment reports AND correctly sizes a StoreOnce for the backup environment.

NinjaProtected+ works with all of the major enterprise backup software, and is intended to collect information to be used for:

  • Generating an Assessment Report of their Backup Infrastructure
  • Highlighting the advantages of using StoreOnce (and RMC) in the customer environment
  • Generating an automated storage sizing/solution for a StoreOnce to correctly fit the backup environment
  • Sparking a customer discussion about their backups and existing storage

XLS Sizing Report(Veeam Only) In place of the XML/CSV Sizing files, for Veeam assessments, an excel spreadsheet is generated with StoreOnce configurations for multiple growth options.

How to Access NinjaProtected+

Partners have full access to all the functionality of NinjaProtected+, but only indirect access to the processing engine. A world-wide support team is dedicated to helping partners utilize the TME tools, including NinjaProtected+.

The simple process begins for partners by:

  1. Filling in a Partner ID form, which can be found in the resources section below
  2. Sending the form to the NinjaProtected+ support team

HPE Employees

HPE employees have direct access to a self-server NP+ portal that allows direct download of the collector scripts, an upload page for the zipped collection, and an on-demand report page to generate and download the specific report that are needed.

Assessments take less than 30 minutes on site!


Collecting the data for a NinjaProtected+ Assessment and StoreOnce sizing is very fast. Running the collector normally takes less than 30 minutes, sometimes as little as 1-2 minutes.

This zip file contains a complete set of NP+ reports. Showing the primary Backup Assessment to a customer is often enough incentive to allow an NP+ Assessment to move forward.
